About this role

  • Lead and oversee the team to resolve incidents and problems ensuring all details are tracked and communicated using the companies chosen help desk system;
  • Manage change in the IT environment using established best practice processes;
  • Provide technical and functional support to the business for all applications and raising/tracking bugs where necessary;
  • Oversee and perform application related deployments in Prod/ Non-Prod environments;
  • Perform bug fixes and implement changes in Prod / Non-Prod environments;
  • Effectively monitor business critical services and applications, identifying improvements and preventative maintenance interventions;
  • Plan and undertake changes to software/hardware/infrastructure;
  • Prepare and produce system documentation in accordance with company and ISO9000 policies and procedures;
  • Review implementation and deployment designs;
  • Install and configure requisite bespoke applications and test accordingly;
  • Maintain up to date awareness of developments in IT industry and identify how appropriate ones can be applied to customer organisations;
  • Methodical and disciplined approach to work;
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail;
  • Ability to organise and prioritise work in an effective manner;
  • Ability to develop good relationships;
  • Good analytical skills and an ability to define the precise nature of customer problems;
  • Ability to give specific and clear instructions and problem-solving advice;
  • Experience of supporting a production environment as a member;

  • Ability to work well in a team and lead a team of IT support staff;
  • Ability to contribute to the definition and structuring of projects / improvement initiatives;
  • Ability to structure and draft technical documentation;
  • Maintain high awareness and keep up to date with advances in technology;
  • Good systems management skills;
  • Experience of working with 3rd party suppliers.

Requirements

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent (e.g. Computer Science);
  • At Least 3 years commercial IT experience in a similar support role, with Microsoft networking, TCP/IP PC and Microsoft Windows maintenance and troubleshooting. Must have knowledge of LAN, WAN, wireless;
  • Proficient in English – Written and Spoken. Arabic an advantage;
  • MCSE or MCITP;
  • Experience in the tolling industry - desirable;
  • Must have the ability to participate within a technical team;
  • Ability to analyse connectivity issues with custom applications within the network;
  • Ability to develop technical documentation for the non-technical user;
  • Ability to be on call as a second line;
  • Ability to work out of hours if required to meet with the system operational constraints;
  • Authorised to work in Qatar.
