We’re hiring a 1 year contract for a global pharmaceutical company in Guelph Ontario.
Someone who is passionate about animals would be an asset or someone who comes from pharma (not necessary) but a strong asset, or GMP.
The primary role of the Commercial Excellence Manager is to drive business excellence by the design, planning and implementation of commercial processes, projects and initiatives to maximize top and bottom-line results. This position is responsible for partnering with commercial teams (such as sales, marketing, finance, supply chain, global commercial analytics) to ensure that data, reporting, and analytics continue to enable understanding of our customers and products.

• Work closely with Business Transformation Lead and contribute to the future roadmap and strategic direction of applications in the business insight space. • Identify, assess, and solve complex business problems where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors
• Demonstrate a strategic approach to achieve business objectives by asking strategic questions, aligning resources, developing action plans, and evaluating action plan results• Support commercial sales planning processes and analysis of customers, products, and markets by having a deep understanding of sales force strategy, tactics, and implementation needs.
• Actively engage with internal partners to identify business problems, analyze business needs and design/deliver solutions. Manage and continuously elicit/refine business requirements.• Work closely with commercial teams and listen for end-user stories to identify and devise solutions that optimize business insight, performance and competitiveness.
• Re-visiting standardized sales views and reports to maintain relevancy to address current business needs. • Support continuous exploration with internal business to identify and enable new capabilities and technologies required to consume, process, and analyze Animal Health commercial data.
• Proactively manage project risk and issues while identifying appropriate mitigations. • Coordinate project process alignment by leading in-direct reporting team in the delivery of affiliate projects and services.
• Support focused strategic and business plan discussions with business leaders about upcoming business needs and transformation requirements. • Ensure clear communication channels with all stakeholders involved in the solution delivery efforts.
• Develop and ensure proactive sustainability and resilience for commercial analytics platforms across the affiliate.• Participate in day-to-day tactical delivery of feature improvements for our data and analytics portfolio.
• Hands-on daily operational support to make sure systems are performing as expected.• Help coordinate vendors and contractors, guiding them as necessary to ensure delivery of commitments.
• Maintain strong knowledge in the broad set of data-related technologies including CRM, SFE, Veeva/Salesforce and Reporting / Data Visualization Tools (Tableau) and data orchestration best practices• Maintain a functional business understanding of the Animal Health pharmaceutical medicines and vaccinations for pets and livestock key markets.
• Support & contribute to key performance indicators that enable management to steer the sales strategy and tactics over time.• Lead Training and Development: Secure upgrading and upskilling of all Commercial Operations platforms related to internal customer facing functions



.• Minimum Qualification (education, experience and/or training, required certifications):• Strong problem solving and analytical skills with high learning agility
• Proactive and highly motivated to take ownership of business challenges• Hold a master’s degree within Business or Computer Science or Informatics or have gained similar expertise through work experience
• 5+ years of Commercial Animal Health / Life Sciences Experience • Market research experience minimum 3 years
• Sales experience of 2-3 years is an advantage• Excellent project management capabilities
• Strong and effective presentation skills• Demonstrated ability to think creatively about complex business problems and resolve through new approaches.
• Experience with information system management, data management and integration, preferably in Animal Health/ pharmaceutical healthcare industry. • Strong knowledge of data governance and data quality design thinking.
• Excellent communication and business acumen skills to work across and up through the organization, including escalation and mitigation of issues, risks, and business impacts. • Ability to listen and translate complex business requirements in simple easy to understand language.
• Advanced problem-solving capabilities and ability to leverage constraints as opportunities. • Ability to think strategically through the perspective of end-users, recommend technology solutions that align with business strategy and achieve the greatest business impact.
• Ability to work in a changing environment, under pressure, handling multiple projects simultaneously.• Ability to master, with minimal support, new IS technologies and processes.
• Excellent influencing skills through proven track record, with demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and effectively with key business partners, IT leadership teams, and external service providers.• Experience with User Centered Design principles (user experience, user interface design and business process design)
• Experience with designing, building, and understanding data models, data integrations, and data engineering pipelines for processing enterprise-scale data.• Years of hands-on experience with SQL and skill at retrieving data using complex SQL queries, and the ability to enhance query performance is an asset.
• Demonstrated high learning agility with a strong sense of ownership, urgency and drive. • Strong organizational, planning skills and established ability to effectively collaborate across a matrixed organization.
