About this role

We’re hiring a Construction Manager for our client in the oil and gas industry to join their leading and growing team! This is a 6-month contract opportunity where you will be responsible for the planning and execution of retail construction projects, with a focus on site closures and decommissioning's.

Responsibilities

  • Project planning (scope, DCE, AFE, tendering, contracting) 30%
  • Project execution (supplier management, cost, schedule management, closeout, turnover) 50%
  • Continuous improvement (process development, documentation, best practices) 20%
  • Authorization for Expenditure (AFE) request preparation
  • Management of permit applications and follow up with Municipalities
  • Purchase requisition creation
  • Project schedule management
  • Accrual management
  • Change Order management
  • Coordination of project deliverables with other internal stakeholders
  • Project documentation and Operations and Maintenance manuals preparation
  • Ensuring payment of suppliers prior to project closeout

  • Undergrad degree or diploma in an Engineering or Technical discipline
  • POST Training - Level 2
  • 7 – 10 years of Construction project management (planning & execution)
  • Cost management (detailed cost estimating, AFE business case, budget)
  • Supplier management (tendering, contracting, safety & performance)
  • Cross-functional stakeholder management
  • Process development and documentation
  • Oil and Gas, Retail, Residential, or Commercial Construction experience
  • Graduate degree in an Engineering or Technical discipline
  • Retail construction management
  • Direct experience in Retail Construction
