About this role

We’re hiring a Document Controller Administrator for our mining client to join their team. This is a 5-month contract position with the possibility of extension.

Responsibilities

  • Perform assurance activities to ensure the correct document and revision is attached to each document container in Smart Plant
  • Perform quality checks of technical/non-technical documents with regards to legibility, numbering of file formats and verification of revisions structures, titles etc.
  • Make corrections to the metadata in the database as necessary
  • If discrepancies are found – retrieve the correct information and upload
  • Technical understanding of engineering documents
  • Ensure compliance of company document control standards are applied
  • Guarantee metadata matches physical documents in Smart Plant
  • Ensure database is accurate and ready for Execution

Requirements

Requirements:

  • Exceptional attention to detail a must
  • The successful candidate will be a self –starter who requires a minimum of supervision
  • 4+ years’ experience in Document Control or records management
  • Relevant mining or oil and gas experience
  • Able to perform complex document control duties demonstrating problem solving skills in a proactive manner
  • Good communication skills – verbal and written
  • Advanced computer literacy, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Experience using collaboration tools such as Aconex, SharePoint.
  • Proven ability to work under pressure and in accordance with deadlines
  • Excellent organization skills
  • Smart Plant for operations experiences a definite asset
  • Owner/Operator or EPCM experience in engineering or oil & gas preferred.
  • Must be knowledgeable in document control/records assurance practices
