About this role

Brunel are working with a global leader in the mining and resources sector to recruit an Engineering Lead for capital projects. This role ensures the delivery of quality engineering outcomes for large projects over $10m to major projects over $100M.

In this role, you will be expected to:

  • Ensure scope definition and delivering concept to completion engineering design deliverables.
  • Manage engineering design contracts to ensure delivery to agreed schedule and budget.
  • Maximise value from service providers by monitoring performance and reducing variations.
  • Participate in definition of strategy for engaging external service providers.
  • Apply correct standards and model company values in all actions.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce costs to increase business value.



  • Bachelor of Engineering (Civil, Structural, Electrical or Mechanical) Degree.
  • Project management, contracts or commercial management exposure or certifications.
  • 10+ years’ experience in an engineering or technical field.
  • 5+ years Engineering Design and Design management experience.
  • Experience in the alumina, mineral processing or heavy industry.
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills.

During the interview, you will be assessed on your level of experience and skills, work history, availability, and the qualifications the company is seeking for the position.


After successfully making through the phone interview, a face to face interview will be scheduled between the candidate and recruiter. This session can be a more in-depth interview to review your communication and interpersonal skills.
