About this role

About this role

  • Steward environmental-related geospatial (eg, GIS) data and develop tools required for analyses;
  • Develop and manage a geospatial data management structure for COMPANY to ensure the ability to ingest new data, as well as manage and disseminate data as needed;
  • Develop and manage map portals as needed for COMPANY initiatives, specifically those related to environmental, water resource and geoscience initiatives;
  • Develop a program to proactively discover internal geospatial data that have been identified and ensure an evergreen approach to ensure all data have been in assessed for accuracy and may be stewarded for the long-term;
  • Manage access to global databases and ensure appropriate access to both internal and external geospatial data, including global commercial databases;
  • Provide technical support on the acquisition, processing and delivery criteria for new geospatial data;
  • Develop and integrate geospatial tools into COMPANY workflows;
  • Coordinate geospatial activities across teams to ensure alignment;
  • Manage geospatial relationships and networks across teams to ensure a consistent approach to stewarding geospatial data across programs/projects;
  • Develop guidance materials on stewarding geospatial data.

Requirements

Requirements

  • Detailed knowledge of ArcGIS and related programs; Desktop, Online and Portal;
  • Detailed knowledge of mobile geospatial tools, e.g., Collector and Survey123;
  • Global geospatial database management through Spatial Database Engine;
  • Experience with environmental geospatial data needs;
  • Strong communication / interpersonal skills with ability to collaborate in with a team;
  • Strong initiative and a self-starter that does not require significant oversight.
