About this role

This renowned Oil & Gas operator are seeking an experienced materials buyer who will provide procurement support to operations in regards to purchasing of inventory and other items as required. The selected candidate will have oversight of the entire PO process from preparation to closeout.

  • Source local and international suppliers for materials and inventory items
  • Ensure procurement activities comply with Australian Industry participation objectives
  • Prepare request for Quotations and evaluate responses
  • Negotiate with suppliers on relevant matters such as T&C's and pricing
  • Facilitate resolution of invoice queries
  • Ensure commercials and contractual correspondence with suppliers is efficiently handled
  • Facilitate resolution of invoice queries
  • Help identify solutions to optimise the purchasing process


  • Previous procurement experience in a similar environment
  • Proven understanding of the procurement process
  • Experience in inventory and materials management
  • Experience working with SAP; MM module
  • Excellent communications skills
