A 12-month contract for a site-based Mechanical Engineer working on an External Corrosion refurbishment portfolio – an inspection, engineering and refurbishment campaign. 14/14 roster, 10 hours per day.

Role responsibilities will include:

  • Engineering focal point for online and offline mechanical refurbishment of external corrosion defects
  • Key engineering interface between Inspection Services Contractor and Engineering & Procurement Contractor
  • Develop and manage Site Actioned Engineering Deliverables
  • Resolve Site queries utilising the Project Site Query System
  • Support EP Contractor home office in design queries relating to as-built conditions onsite, input into design reviews & constructability reviews.
  • Act as client representative for identifying availability of materials to support ad-hoc design changes and emergent work, audit compliance with respect to material traceability and certification.
  • Respond to SQ’s, raise SQ’s to design office, communicate issues with vendor packages, sign-off applicable hold points in ITPs, identify deviations from client standards and coordinate and or submit TDRQ’s, develop repair scopes of work, red line mark ups and approvals for minor changes.



  • Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical or equivalent)
  • 3-8 years’ experience in the Oil & Gas Industry
  • Experience in external corrosion inspection & refurbishment - considered highly desirable
  • Experience in the selection of NDT techniques for assessing defects on pressure equipment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to convey information and ideas to individuals and groups
  • Good working experience in an operating LNG Plant
  • Detailed working knowledge of RBI, NDT techniques, materials and degradation mechanisms and a detailed knowledge of AS3788.
  • Basic understanding of SAP PM Module
  • Knowledge in Metallurgy/Welding, Corrosion, Cathodic Protection and NDT.
  • Excellent technical and practical skills and able to consistently deliver quality, accurate and timely work to the company and its clients.
  • Competent in the use of relevant software such as MS Office Suite and 3D Model viewers.
