About this role: OSS MV/HV Technician

Working on a large scale offshore Windfarm project, your role will be to assist the OSS commissioning team in supervising/performing all commissioning related tasks, in a senior / supervisory capacity. We are looking for someone with strong experience in HV/MV commissioning and maintenance, and who comes with previous experience in a role (or similar to) Senior Authorized Person. You must be qualified to operate equipment with voltage level up to 225kV, and have strong experience in switching operations and electrical systems. We need someone with excellent understanding of electrical networks and C&P, and proficient communication in English and/or French.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise HV/MV commissioning activities and associated planning;
  • Ensure that commissioning activities comply with the contract and project requirements in terms of HSE, quality, planning and cost;
  • Ensure commissioning activities are performed following established procedures;
  • Insist for zero harm HSE policy through deep involvement in HSE on a daily basis;
  • Ensure that commissioning activities demonstrate that the Contractor has completed the Works in accordance with the relevant codes, standards, norms, regulations, laws and the Employer’s Requirements;
  • Supervise commissioning activities to demonstrate equipment and systems supplied by the Contractor provide functionalities and operation requirements described in the Employer’s Requirements and in the operation and maintenance plan;
  • Implementation of technical departments' best practices for commissioning scope;
  • Report commissioning progress and participate in commissioning meetings;
  • Ensure human resources, services and tools required to perform the work have been identified and are mobilized in due time by the Contractor;
  • Monitor MV/HV electrical operational activities to ensure safety;
  • MV/HV commissioning completion in due time and to agreed standards;
  • Conduct and record toolbox talks;
  • Review RAMS and other relevant HSE documentation;
  • Capture and transfer of experience during commissioning into Asset Operations.

Experience & Skills

  • Strong experience in HV/MV commissioning and maintenance;
  • Previous experience like Senior Authorized Person up to 225kV;
  • Qualified to operate equipment with voltage level up to 225kV;
  • Strong experience in switching operations and electrical systems;
  • Excellent understanding of electrical networks and C&P;
  • Recommended 1 year of experience in similar position;
  • Adaptable, and ready to work with an international team;
  • Ability to communicate proficiently in the English and/or French language;
  • Able to perform basic tasks on MS Office.

The position will start in December, and run till the end of 2023 – it is a contract position, which will be based onshore (Monday to Friday, sometimes Saturday) until next summer, at which point you will go offshore 14/14 rotation.
