Brunel are recruiting a Payroll Assistant for an exciting opportunity to support our client's payroll activities.

  • 6-12 month contract
  • Oil and gas operator
  • Perth based position

  • Payroll coordination and reporting on payroll activities
  • End-to-end payroll processing
  • Interpreting payroll legislation and Awards to apply to payroll
  • Maintain personnel data and customer support databases to ensure systems reflect current information eg terminations, adjustments and classifications changes.
  • Assisting with the preparation of payroll reporting and invoicing.
  • Providing a high level of customer service to both employees and other Payroll Officers and Payroll teams.



The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:

  • Strong experience in payroll coordination, payroll processing and reporting on payroll activitiesStrong knowledge and up to date awareness of payroll legislation regarding awards etc.
  • Excellent customer service - previous experience working with an outsourced team highly regarded but not required
  • Strong analytical skills and intermediate Excel skills.

After being shortlisted, you will be contacted via email or telephone to arrange for a date on your availability for the qualification interview.


During the interview, you will be assessed on your level of experience and skills, work history, availability, and the qualifications the company is seeking for the position.


After successfully making through the phone interview, a face to face interview will be scheduled between the candidate and recruiter. This session can be a more in-depth interview to review your communication and interpersonal skills.
