Brunel has an exciting opportunity for a Chemical Plant Operations Manager working for our client located in South East Louisiana.

As the Operations Manager, you will supervise and ensure optimum and safe operation in the following production units: Ammonia production units including storage facilities, product loading, and utilities area may include raw water treatment, process waste lagoons and domestic waste treatment. Other duties will include:

  • Direct activities in area of responsibility to attain maximum plant operating efficiency, product rate and product quality.
  • Manage operation within approved budget for controllable costs. Participate in annual budget process and develop budget for plants within areas of responsibility.
  • Supervises and trains personnel in the safe and proper operation and care of all equipment in process, storage and loading facilities.
  • Maintain good personnel relations by explaining company goals and policies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemical, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (Years of Experience will be considered in-lieu of a degree)
  • 10+ years of progressive and combined experience in plant maintenance, operations, and supervision.
  • Ability to read and understand PFD's and P&ID's.
  • Ability to interpret and evaluate operating procedures and convey to operating personnel.
  • Understands technical functions and stays abreast of current developments and trends.
  • Knows key organizational standards, process and procedures.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
