The Role:

The primary purpose of this role will be to manage and be responsible for the Contracts, Procurement and Materials control team for a $800M greenfield gold mine project based in the Perth office. The Contracts & Procurement Manager will report to the Project Construction Director and ensure the following requirements as a minimum:

  • Ensure compliance with requirements of the EPCM Agreement, particularly procurement and contract management services
  • Deliver the Procurement Plan for up to 47 key packages consisting of 42 supply packages and 5 construction packages
  • Ensure contracting parties adhere to the requirements of the awarded contracts
  • Allocate, review and manage work allocations for up to a team of 12 supply chain management professionals
  • Provide advice & directives to team members to fulfil contract obligations
  • Review & input in negotiations with new suppliers / contractors
  • Ensure the performance of all members of the contracts & procurement team are fulfilled in accordance with the requirements of the contract
  • Ensure appropriate regular reviews are in place and the team communicates with their respective colleagues in the other disciplines (engineering, project management, project controls, site)
  • Regular interface with client’s team and weekly reporting obligations
  • Review & advise on disputes and/or problematic situations; provide & implement solutions
  • Ensure continuous improvement initiatives
  • Ensure documentation/procedures are reviewed and revised as required



  • A relevant degree, qualification or relevant experience in a similar role
  • Extensive contracts and procurement management experience in executing major projects in an EPCM / EPC organisation
  • Demonstrated experience in developing procurement strategies and negotiating contract terms and conditions
  • Strong level of interpersonal communication (written and verbal), negotiation and influencing skills
  • Ability to prioritise and manage time effectively
  • Leader who can develop staff and work in collaboration with colleagues at all levels
  • Must be willing to travel for regular site visits
