Brunel have partnered with a global engineering and consultancy leader to successfully recruit and place a suitably qualified Quality Control Engineer for a site-based position, specialising in Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I).

The Quality Control Engineer (E&I) will report to the Project Quality Manager and be responsible for ensuring QC compliance across all facets of the construction phase of the project. You will be working side by side with a global specialist chemicals company on a new and innovative project in the growing Lithium resources market to construct a world class processing facility. The plant is under construction approximately 160 km South of Perth, Western Australia and 17 km North-East of Bunbury.

  • Work with Site Contractors to ensure project QC requirements are understood by all
  • Competence of technical review of supplier data submissions typically including quality plans, Inspection Test Plans (ITP’s), process and personnel qualifications and manufacturing records and certification
  • Monitor the development and approval of Works Contractor Inspection Test Plans (ITP’s), Checklists (ITC’s) and Manufacturers Data Records (MDR’s), this will also include the compilation of supplier and subcontractor MDR’s into the project master documents
  • Monitor and support Completion Team with progressive handover of work packs
  • Ensure in field quality requirements are met in terms of both workmanship and documentation, identifying issues and managing / mitigating appropriately
  • Review and register in the company quality control system all complaints received from customers (NCR’s), internal and external, and direct complex issues to Manager. Monitor NCR’s through to conclusion
  • Document quality issues and performance measures for management review
  • Monitor and inspect fabrication / construction process against project specifications, drawings, and related codes to ensure finished products meet quality specifications and standards design intent
  • Manage relationships and ways of working with key suppliers and subcontractors to ensure continuous improvement in the delivery of goods /services that meet business and project requirements
  • Supervise controls on receipt and acknowledgment of materials and supplies and the maintenance of quality control records and equipment
  • Analyse and report of Works Contractor performances (KPIs)
  • Promote a safe working environment



  • Trade qualification in Electrical / Instrumentation Engineering Field
  • 7+ years as a Quality Control Engineer in a multi discipline EPCM Environment
  • Strong Technical Understanding
  • Strong Communication Skills
  • Must Show initiative, be conscientious and have a sense of urgency
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
  • Experience in Quality auditing
  • Construction white card
