About this role
Rotating Equipment KnowledgeForeman to be highly knowledgeable about following areas of rotating machines.
> Overhauling: Carry out major overhaul jobs for pumps, motors, steam turbines, compressors, fans and blowers. Should have command on overhauling procedures as per vendor guidelines.> Troubleshooting: Carry out basic & advanced troubleshooting for rotating machines.
> Alignment: To be able to perform alignment jobs between rotating machines. Foreman has to have command on both Rim & Face alignment as well as laser alignment.> Machine Types: Foreman must be familiar for vertical & horizontal pumps of these makes (Ingersol Dresser, SPX Union Pumps, Byron Jackson, Lewa, Bennet & Emmott), Dresser Rang Steam Turbines & Centrifugal Compressors, Howden Blowers, GE & AVON Gas Turbines.
> Mechanical Seals: Foreman to be capable of assembling and installation of mechanical seals, both cartridge type seals and component seals.
Task Delegation> Prepare and disseminate the daily log of activities and continuously monitor progress to ensure efficient and effective execution / implementation of required work.
Prepare a weekly schedule of the tasks expected to be carried out in the forthcoming week to present it in the weekly planning meeting.> Troubleshoot problems as required in order to avoid major escalations at any given instance.> Carry out general maintenance work on DUGAS assets as required ensuring minimum disruptions in regard to machine / technical breakdowns.> Supervise the work on intricate pieces of equipment where special skills are trained to carry out their regular duties
