Currently searching for an experienced Safety Professional who can focus on safety methodologies keeping in mind the Human Error and Performance analysis. They will be responsible for building work processes through development and deployment of human factors/human performance initiatives, operational reliability improvement, learning teams, and safety critical task analysis.This role will require the individual to think outside the box and establish a strong foundation of principles based on human safety performance working closely with the VP of HSSEQ. Strong leadership skills and the ability to maintain relationships across a variety of functions and site leaders is key.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop and lead the Company strategy on safety excellence through behavior-based initiatives, human and organizational performance, human factors, personal accountability and ownership of safety as a core value.
  • Engage with location leadership to develop fit-for-purpose human performance solutions at each Company location.
  • Develop, maintain, and measure progress against KPIs in line with the Company safety excellence strategies and act as an advocate for the principles of continuous improvement in Company safety plans, policies, and processes in driving towards safety excellence.
  • Perform statistical analysis of human performance data and provide summary reports to manufacturing leadership.
  • Develop and lead the company efforts in safety learning teams and learning programs to ensure appropriate and necessary knowledge of appropriate practices, procedures, tasks, requirements and company standards and objectives.



  • Bachelor's degree in Human Factors, Engineering, Psychology, or related discipline
  • Experience conducting data analysis and data visualization
  • Experience applying knowledge of psychological and physiological factors to assist in the design of safety features to account for the possibility of human errors in operations
  • Experience applying human performance methodology within the chemical or petroleum or manufacturing setting is preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to actively collaborate within a cross-functional team as well as excellent oral and written communication skills
