This opportunity with Brunel and our Cent will provide ongoing training and support to Offsiders that wish to progress in the Drilling sector and upskill continually with a local WA company.

Our client has been operational in Australia since the 1980's with drilling projects across Australia, both FIFO and Metro projects. A multi-disciplinary company with high standards and a proven track record, our Client has more than 35 years of industry experience and a proven track record of quality work.

Key Responsibilities:

• Carry out Pre-Start checks on equipment.• Loading and unloading.
• Assist the Driller in carrying out field operations.• Perform daily routine tasks with minimal supervision/instruction.
• Perform tasks and procedures in accordance with J&S Drilling’s Standard Work Procedures.• Completion of training and induction requirements.
• Organise work area

The key long term function would be to upskill to become a fully qualifed Driller with the confidence, skill and ability to manage their own rig & team. From the onset the main function of the job will be to assist the Driller's in all aspects or drilling operations wihtin the following niche operations:

  • Geotechnical
  • Over Water
  • Exploration
  • Water Bore
  • Enviromental
  • Drilling, sampling & testing drilling operations

Drilling platforms include: Truck, Trailer, Track, Barge, Jackup, Morooka, Mangrove Buggy supported by All-Terrain Vehicles (ATV).
Types of drilling include; RC, Aircore, Air & Mud Rotary, Diamond & Auger Core & Geo Probe.

Pre-Requisites:

• HR drivers’ licence• Must be able to provide copies of current certificates and HRWL
• Pass a Pre-Employment Medical and Drug & Alcohol Test • Previous experiance working as Drillers Offsider

Desirable:

• MC/HC Highly regarded.• Apply first aid certificate.
• White card.• Current Police clearance (within 4 weeks).
• Sound mechanical aptitude.• High risk work licence (LF/CV/CN/RB/DG).
• Working at heights certificate.• 4WD Certificate.

Requirement:

• Pass a pre-employment medical.• Pass A&D testing.
• Work 12-hour shifts.• Work away in regional remote localities.
• Able to travel by air to localities as required.

• Some work required ex Wattelup, Perth - Projects are ongoing and do come up often in the Metro area. • Current Projects: NT, QLD and WA.
• Super on all hours worked.• Swings options are family friendly of 2:2 or 2:1.
