Seeking a Well Operations Supervisor to work FIFO in SE QLD. This will be for a contract for an initial 12 month period.

Brunel Australasia are currently partnered with our client who is one of Australia’s leading natural gas producers. They have a great reputation for creating a safety-focused culture, whilst they expand their operations in Queensland’s onshore gas reserves.

The Well Operations Supervisor’s role is to safely and efficiently manage well and rig site operations to deliver these business objectives in full compliance with relevant legislation and policies.

  • Deliver continuous performance improvement by efficient management of site resources and use of best practices in delivery of the well programme.
  • Ensure that all activities by site personnel are co-ordinated and in compliance with permit to work and change control procedures.
  • Ensure the drilling / workover unit and all associated systems are managed and operated within their prescribed envelope.
  • Inspect well site prior to rig move to ensure that access and necessary earthworks are in place.
  • Coordinate and communicate with off-site personnel and resources to manage programme changes and deliver business objectives.
  • Ensure that site lessons are captured and shared effectively with on and offsite teams.
  • Ensure all pertinent instructions are issued in writing and that objectives are fully understood.
  • Co-ordinate all third party services. Review contracted job tickets and sign off where acceptable, including comments where appropriate.
  • Conduct a minimum of one full operations meeting per day with all key personnel on forward programme.
  • Ensure compliance to drilling policy and advise of any potential deviations that are foreseen.
  • Ensure timely delivery and return of all Company furnished equipment and services.
  • Conduct, supervise and document well control drills in line with Well Control Procedures and well programme guidance to ensure satisfactory crew knowledge and equipment performance (Log on daily drilling report and effectiveness on end of trip report).
  • Monitor performance and technical integrity of contractors and service providers.
  • Ensure senior management is kept fully abreast of all key risks and issues.



  • Minimum of 10 + years of drilling / workover / intervention experience at a supervisory level.
  • Due to upcoming Coiled Tubing and Wireline workscope, individuals with strong Coiled Tubing and Wireline experience are preferred.
  • IWCF Supervisory Level - mandatory
  • Working knowledge of EDM well engineering software packages or an equivalent system
  • Artificial Lift exp
  • Experience with CSG drilling, workover or abandonment operations

  • FIFO 14/14 or 21/21 from Brisbane
  • 12hr Days
  • Site based; Chinchilla area
